Zamalek will have key duo Mahmoud Kahraba and Mahmoud Alaa available when they host Kenya's Gor Mahia in a vital CAF Confederation Cup clash on Sunday as they seek to edge closer to a place in the knockout phase. Winger Kahraba, one of Zamalek's best performers this season, missed last week's precious 1-0 victory away to Angola's Petro Atletico after he was suspended by the club for disciplinary reasons. Central defender Alaa also sat out the match due to injury, but has been given the all-clear to play against Gor Mahia at Alexandria's Borg El-Arab Stadium. Zamalek's win over Petro Atletico lifted them to third in the group as they made up for a poor start to their group stage campaign. They are one point ahead of Atletico, one behind Gor Mahia and two adrift of leaders NA Hussein Dey of Algeria in a tight race for the top two places in Group D. Zamalek host Gor Mahia before facing NA Hussein Dey away from home in their final group stage encounter next week. "The win was very important but we have not qualified yet," Zamalek coach Christian Gross said after a maiden goal from Moroccan winger Hamid Ahaddad helped them snatch all three points in Luanda. "We have to win our two remaining games as five points could not be sufficient to secure our place in the next round." Zamalek will be also seeking to avenge a bitter 4-2 loss at Gor Mahia in their opening group game, but they will have to avoid the kind of defensive frailties which cost them dear in their opening three matches.
