Defending champions Raja Casablanca played out a 1-1 draw away to Hassania Agadir in their African Confederation Cup group stage opener on Sunday. Mohcine Iajour gave the hosts the lead in the 54th minute when he raced onto a deft through pass and hit a shot from a tight angle that struck the keeper's hands and went in. However, Mehdi Oubila secured a share of spoils with a brilliant curling free kick three minutes past the hour mark. All Group A teams are tied on one point after Congolese outfit AS Otoho d'Oyo settled for a 1-1 draw at home to Morocco's RS de Berkane. Etoile Sahel kicked off Group B with a 1-0 win over fellow Tunisian side Sfaxien, thanks to a goal from Ayman Harazo, while Nigeria's Enugu Rangers beat Burkina Faso's Salitas 2-0 in the same group. In Group C, a first-half goal from Waleed Hamid gave Sudan's Al-Hilal a 1-0 victory over Ghana's Asante Kotoko.
