Spanish coach Jose Maqueda has officially resigned from his post as the head coach of Ittihad of Alexandria club after the club's board refused to sign new players in the current transfer window. Ittihad's recent results were negatively affected by the shortage of players through injury or suspension. The coastal club lost its third successive match on Thursday against Beni Suef Telephones to lie 12th in the league table with 15 points, 21 behind leaders Harras El-Hodoud. The 42-year-old coach arrived at the Alexandria-based club last summer, leading them to play pretty football at some times this season. It seems that recent aggravated problems at the club made the former Real Madrid player more determined to leave despite the management's attempts to convince him otherwise.
