Leicester manager Puel concerned about injured Ghana's defender Amartey

Leicester City manager Claude Puel was pleased to see his side avert another Premier League defeat on Saturday but was more concerned with the condition of Daniel Amartey who was carried off on a stretcher and needed oxygen on the pitch.
Wilfred Ndidi netted a last-gasp equaliser to help Leicester secure a 1-1 draw against 10-man West Ham United after Fabian Balbuena had given the visitors the lead but Puel was more focused on ensuring Amartey makes a full recovery.
The Ghana defender left the field in added time with his leg in a brace having appeared to suffer a serious ankle injury following a collision with Michail Antonio after seeming to catch his studs in the turf.
“He played well and gave his best so it is difficult to see this injury at the end. I thought more about that at the end than the game. I hope it is not as a serious as we think. He will have an examination and then we will see, of course,” Frenchman Puel told BT Sport.
“It was a tough game. We started very well in the first half but we lost control of the game and we played deep. West Ham played well and we conceded from a set-piece.
“We came back in the second half with desire and positivity and it was a good second half with a lot of chances.”
West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini, who saw Mark Noble sent off after 38 minutes, was disappointed with the result but said his players can take a lot of confidence from their display.
"I am happy with the performance and the way the team played but not with the result.” the Chilean told the BBC.
"We were very unlucky with the goal they scored because we played around 55 minutes with a player less. Maybe Leicester had other options which they missed but that goal was very unlucky in the last few minutes of the game.
"Until the final whistle you never know what will be the score. After they scored the goal we had chances too.
"I am very proud with how the team is playing. We drew against Leicester away with one player less which can be seen as a good result but the mentality of the players (is that they) want more.”
Pellegrini declined to be drawn on the dismissal of Noble adding: “I haven't seen it. But I respect the referee. I haven't seen it so I don't give my opinion.”
