Zamalek assistant coach Ismail Yussif expressed his satisfaction after his team's win against Wadi Degla in the delayed game from day one of the Egyptian Premier League. “We earned there very important points,” Yussif was quoted as saying on the club's official website. The former Zamalek player reserved special praise for goalkeeper Abdel-Wahed El-Sayed, defender Mahmoud Fathallah and strikers Razak and Ahmed Gaafar. “We had no choice but to substitute Ahmed Abdel-Shafi but thanks to Gaafar, we had the upper hand,” Yussif added. Gaafar came off the bench in the second half to give Zamalek a narrow 1-0 win over a brave Wadi Degla side in Saturday's game. Under the guidance of manager Hassan Shehata, the White Castle are bidding for their first Egyptian Premier League since 2004. They are fourth in the table with 23 points, five behind leaders Haras El-Hodoud. They play Gouna next Wednesday. (For more sports news and updates, follow Ahram Online Sports on Twitter:@AO_Sports).
