Preview: Ahly missing six regulars in Egyptian league match against Entag
Published in Ahram Online on 01 - 09 - 2018

Title holders Ahly will be looking to make light of a number of injuries that hit key players as they seek to maintain their fine run in the Egyptian Premier League at the expense of El-Entag El-Harby on Sunday.
The Red Devils will have to do without six regular players when they face Entag: Tunisian left-back Ali Maaloul, central defender Saad Samir, midfield duo Amr El-Sulaya and Hossam Ashour and wingers Walid Soliman and Junior Ajayi.
Entag are one of four teams not to suffer any defeats in the opening four matches of the season.
"We are ready for tomorrow's match despite the absences and injuries. Our rotation policy will continue; new players will be given a chance to make up for the absences," Ahly's French coach Patrice Carteron said.
Ahly, who are eyeing a fourth straight league crown, were held to an opening 1-1 draw by Ismaily before recording three consecutive wins to move joint top with 10 points, on level with Pyramids FC.
Although they conceded just one goal in four league matches, the state of their defence remains a concern for many fans after they conceded three goals in last week's 4-3 victory home win over Kampala City in the African Champions League.
Entag are unlikely to be breached easily against Ahly, having won twice and drawn as many games, leaking just two goals in the process. They lie fifth in the league table with eight points, just two behind the Cairo giants.
"Our opponents have not lost any games and this underlines how tough the match is. But we have identified the strength and weak points of their game and we are ready to continue our winning run," Carteron added.
