Egypt's Masry have some difficult tests ahead in the African Confederation Cup group stage, as they will be facing stiff competition from RS Berkane of Morocco and Sudan's Al-Hilal. The draw was held on Saturday in Cairo and Masry were drawn in Group B alongside RS Berkane, Al-Hilal and Mozambique's UD Songo. The Port-Said based club reached the group stage of Africa's secondary club competition on their third appearance after earning a 2-1 victory over Gabon's C.F. Mounana at home on Tuesday, to complete a nervy 3-2 aggregate win. Masry will kick off their group stage campaign by hosting UD Songo on 6 May, while their second game will be 10 days later against Al-Hilal in Sudan. The team's remaining matches will be played after the World Cup during July and August. The club is the sole representative of Egypt at the Confederation Cup after Zamalek's exit from round 32. They currently lie fourth in the Egyptian Premier League table with 52 points, 30 behind champions Ahly.
