Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said on Sunday that Egypt's winger Mohamed Salah should be included in the English Premier League (EPL) awards list after scoring for the seventh straight game and taking his goal tally for the season thus far to 32. Salah continued his remarkable scoring run on Saturday as Liverpool beat Newcastle 2-0 to go second in the Premier League, two points above Manchester United, who they visit next Saturday. During the post-match press conference, Klopp was asked if Salah was a contender for an EPL award, and he replied, "Of course." Klopp said Salah deserved to be competing for English football's top individual honours alongside Manchester City's brilliant playmaker Kevin De Bruyne, who remains a strong favourite in the running for both the Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) and Football Writers' player-of-the year awards over the final months of the season. "It's a different position, it depends what you want. There's no doubt Kevin de Bruyne plays a nice season; there's no doubt Mo Salah plays a really good one as well. Not only him; there are a few more players," said Klopp. "A few people would mention that Harry Kane is not too bad and Roberto Firmino is not too bad. "David Silva had a few weeks where, for private reasons, he couldn't play, but plays an outstanding season as well," said the Liverpool manager. "In our team, I like a lot of what we did so far. I don't have to make the decision. At the end there will be one winner and a few more very good players around him." Salah, who joined Liverpool last summer from the Serie A side Roma, has taken the Premier League by storm this season, scoring 24 goals to take his overall tally to 32 goals in 38 appearances in all competitions. The Pharaohs star shares top position in the Premiere League's goal-scorers list with Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane, with both players boasting 24 goals.
