In its 7th edition, 2B Continued Festival and Lab for theatre and performance will bring four performances to Falaki theatre starting 13 February. Attending the festival's opening is by invitation only, and the show will be open to the public on 14 and 15 February with free entry. 2B Continued is a biannual festival supporting young directors and choreographers with mentorships and workshops that culminate in performances at the festival. This year for the first time the festival will be touring in Alexandria and Luxor, in celebration of its 10 year anniversary, expanding its outreach and exposure for the selected works. The performances include two in dance 'The Absentee' By Ali Khamees, and 'Utopia' By Nagham Salah and two plays 'The Honeymoon' By Samar Galal and 'I' By Moustafa Khalil. According to the description on the Facebook event, The Absentee tackles themes of loss, love to death, and the culmination of moments that lead to people becoming “the absentee.” Utopia is a dance performance about passion, choices, questions and chasing elusive peace. 'The Honeymoon' is a one act play adopted from "Writer in his honeymoon" by Ali Salem. It deals with the fears of an artist, his psychological and worldly struggles, that possibly a reflection of the issues of a generation. Khali's piece titled I, is an adaptation from Samuel Beckett's play Not I. The absurdist piece is a monologue where a mouth of a woman is the only entity shown, reflecting her state of mind, and existential emotional conflicts.
