President Sisi honors martyrs' families on National Police Day
Published in Ahram Online on 24 - 01 - 2018

President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi honoured the families of Egypt's martyrs, including some officers, in a ceremony held at the Police Academy on Wednesday on the occasion of the 66th National Police Day, which also coincides the 7th anniversary of 25 January revolution.
Alongside Interior Ministery Magdy Abdel-Ghaffar and senior state officials, the Egyptian president saluted the sacrifices of policemen who lost their lives to terrorism, laying a wreath of flowers at the police martyrs' memorial.
EL-Sisi affirmed that the Egyptian police, along with the army, have spared Egypt from the dangers which have driven many other countries in the region to destruction.
"Evil forces are still waging their war of destruction with utmost effort but nobody can prevail over the will the Egyptian people," El-Sisi added, calling on Egyptians to remain alert.
"Some people want to divert our attention from the goals we have been working to achieve. I say to the Egyptian people: Do not listen to their nonsense talk, and stay committed to achieving construction, development and prosperity," the Egyptian president added.
"We should not allow anybody to take us onto a path that we do not want to go through. Egypt will never become a base for terrorism and evil," El-Sisi said.
"The sons we lost during our war on terrorism are not just the sons of the police and army, but the sons of the whole Egyptian nation," the president said, affirming that Egypt will avenge "every drop of Egyptian blood."
President El-Sisi also saluted Egyptians on the anniversary of 25 January revolution, saying it represented the impetus for the nation to embark upon a new path of development.
"The noble blood that was shed for the sake of freedom, dignity and decent standard of living for the Egyptian citizens gave us the cause to create another reality that Egypt deserves," President El-Sisi said.
The president highlighted enforcing the rule of law as a significant factor to achieve stability and development, expressing appreciation to the role of the Police to maintain and preserve the country's safety.
