Egypt's Sisi inaugurates industrial, health and education projects in Sadat City

Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi inaugurated on Monday in Menoufiya's Sadat City a number of development projects in Lower Egypt and the Nile Delta.
The inauguration was attended by acting Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and the presidential assistant for national projects Ibrahim Mahlab, as well as a number of other ministers and top officials.
Minister of Industry and Trade Tarek Kabil, head of the Administrative Control Authority (ACA) Mohamed Erfan, and CEO of Bishay Steel Group Kamal Bishay presented a report to El-Sisi highlighting the importance of the private sector in development efforts, saying that Sadat City, which has achieved EGP 66 billion worth of production, was built with the efforts of the private sector.
El-Sisi told trade minister Tarek Kabil that Egypt is ready to help speed up the process of completing a textile industrial complex in Sadat City by contributing 50 percent of the funds for the project, which will be completed in collaboration with China.
Kabil said that the building of the textile industrial complex, which will be the largest of its kind in Egypt, will cost a total of $2 billion, and that it marks a major shift in the Egyptian textile industry.
ACA head Erfan said that 79 new factories were built over the past two years in Sadat City with investments worth EGP 2.5 billion, adding that the ongoing projects protect local industry and encourage investment.
El-Sisi stressed the importance of completing the textile industrial complex within three to four years instead of seven, adding that the state is prepared to offer all the necessary facilitations to complete the project within this timeframe.
Minister of Health Ahmed Emad El-Din said during the event that Egypt has accomplished much over the past four years in healthcare, including the construction and renovation of hospitals, the passing of a new health insurance law, and the progress made in combating Hepatitis C.
Emad El-Din said that 1.5 million Egyptians have been cured of the virus, and that over a period of 14 months,medical tests have been conducted for 5 million citizens, with 30 percent of Egyptians expected to undergo tests over the next three years.
The Egyptian president also inaugurated on Monday through video conference the project to develop Suez University and the first phase of Egypt's National Project for Scientific Development in Zuweil City for Science and Technology.
El-Sisi also said that the Red Sea governorate's Galala University, whose name will be changed at a later date, as well as three other universities under construction will all be on an "unprecedented level."
Youth and Sports Minister Khaled Abdel-Aziz presented to El-Sisi a report on the projects completed in the field of sports nationwide.
El-Sisi also inaugurated through video conference Port Said Sports City and a new branch of Ittihad Sports Club in Alexandria's El-Ghaba.
