Egypt coach Cuper may modify style in 2018 World Cup
Published in Ahram Online on 29 - 12 - 2017

Egypt's national football team coach Hector Cuper has hinted on changing tactics during the 2018 FIFA World Cup finals in Russia, saying he doesn't fear playing any team.
"We may make some changes in our style during the World Cup as we can't face Spain or Germany for example with the same system that we use in Africa," Argentinean Cuper told reporters while attending the Dubai International Sports Conference.
Under Cuper, the Pharaohs ended a 28-year World Cup drought, topping their group in the African qualifiers, above Ghana, Uganda and Congo.
Egypt are drawn in Group A of the World Cup finals alongside hosts Russia, Uruguay and fellow Arab country Saudi Arabia.
"All the teams who qualified for the World Cup are strong, so we don't fear playing any particular team," Cuper added.
Cuper, who helped Egypt reach the 2017 African Cup of Nations final, said he has the utmost confidence in his players' ability to go far at the World Cup.
"We want to win our games in the World Cup as well as presenting fine displays to reach advanced places in the tournament," he said.
"We believe in our ability to introduce something special in the coming World Cup."
Egypt will kick off their 2018 FIFA World Cup campaign against Uruguay 15 June. The tournament will be held from 14 June to 15 July 2018 in 11 Russian cities.
