Sundowns' Zimbabwean winger Khama Billiat is on the verge of joining Cairo giants Zamalek in this winter transfer window, his agent Mohamed Farouq told an Egyptian radio station on Thursday. Zamalek opened talks with the player last summer but the deal collapsed after the Cairo giants failed to meet the financial demands of Sundowns. The international winger's contract will end next summer and he can sign for Zamalek in this winter transfer window as a free agent. Billiat was instrumental in Sundowns' triumphant campaign in the Champions League in 2016, which saw the South African side win their first-ever continental title. He produced many fine displays with his national team in the 2017 African Cup of Nations. However, Zamalek are in advanced talks with Etoile du Sahel's Tunisian fullback Hamdi Nagguez over a possible move in January. Having already four foreign players, the Cairo giants will have no choice but to offload two of these four players to make room for Billiat and Nagguez. Zamalek are fourth in the league table with 25 points, 12 behind leaders Ismaily, but they have two matches in hand.
