The Egyptian short film Wanas, directed by Ahmed Nader, has won the Bronze Tanit award for short films at the Carthage Film festival in Tunis. The 22 minute film stars Abdul Rahman Abou Zahra and Ragaa Hussein as Mahmoud and Nabila, a married couple in their eighties. Living alone in their peaceful house, Nabila tries to reinvent daily life with her husband who has fallen ill. The film was in competition with 13 other shorts, including another from Egypt titled Sacrilege by Egyptian-Swiss director Christophe Saber. Nader holds a bachelors degree of arts and literature from the University of Alexandria. His first documentary, titled Disorder, was released in 2014.
