Egypt's cabinet referred on Wednesday to a vote in parliament a draft law to establish an Egyptian space agency, Minister of High Education and Scientific Research Khaled Abdel-Ghafar said on Wednesday, according to Ahram Arabic news website. In a press conference following the weekly meeting of the Egyptian cabinet in Cairo, Abdel-Ghafar said that the draft law is "very important" to locally develop space technology, and that Egypt has experience in launching satellites. The minister said that there is an agreement with China to build a satellite manufacturing factory in 2019, and that Egypt would launch a new satellite called Misr Sat 2 in 2021.
