Tottenham Hotspur defender Kieran Trippier has withdrawn from the England squad for their World Cup qualifiers on Friday and Monday due to an injury, the English Football Association said on Thursday. The 26-year-old, who made his national team debut during June's 3-2 friendly loss to France, missed the start of the Premier League campaign due to an ankle injury but returned to action during Tottenham's 1-1 draw with Burnley last Sunday. Trippier, a right back, has now picked up another knock and has returned to the north London club for treatment. "The right back hasn't trained all week at St George's Park as he continued rehabilitation on an injury sustained playing for Spurs," an FA statement said. "No replacements are planned at this moment in time..." Group F leaders England travel to Malta on Friday and host Slovakia at Wembley on Monday.
