Egyptian midfielder Hossam Ghaly has received a warm welcome from both media and fans upon his arrival in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday to join his new club Al-Nasr for one season on a free transfer after ending his contract with Ahly. Ghaly played with Al-Nasr for a year in 2009, before returning to his boyhood club Ahly in 2010. "I hope to have a good start in my second experience with Al-Nasr," Ghaly told reporters at King Khalid International Airport. "The team's start of the season was perfect after beating Al-Faisaly 2-1 in the opener and I hope to continue the league's campaign successfully. "I am ready for the next match," the Egyptian international added. The 35-year-old, who had successful journeys playing abroad with Feyenoord, Tottenham Hotspur, Derby County and Lierse, has settled down at his boyhood club since 2014. Ghaly was part of Ahly's squad for the 2-1 win over rivals Masry in the Egypt Cup final on Tuesday but did not play.
