Egypt's defender Hegazi fit for English football with Albion, says coach

West Bromwich Albion coach Tony Pulis has praised the performance of his Egyptian centre-back Ahmed Hegazi after his participation in the pre-season match against Leicester City on Wednesday, saying he believes the player will find it easy to fit into the Baggies family.
The 26-year-old Egyptian international made his debut with his new club West Bromwich in the English Premier League in a pre-season match against Leicester City, playing 65 minutes before he was substituted. Hegazy was active in the defense line and also contributed to the Premier League's side attacks.
"I thought he did well the other night and he's fitting in well," Pulis was quoted as saying on the club's official website on Friday.
"He's got good English which is important and he will find that it is an easy group to fit into," he added.
"You try to build a family at the club so when they players leave their homes and come to work they are happy to be here. They are good people in our dressing and very easy to mix in with," the West Bromwich Albion coach.
The Egyptian international joined the Baggies in a season-long loan for a reported fee of one million Euros, coming from Ahly. The deal includes an option for West Brom to make the switch permanent for the price of one million Euros.
Hegazi now kicks off his second overseas adventure following an injury-plagued spell with Serie A side Fiorentina, whom he joined from Egypt's Ismaily in 2012.
He returned to Egypt three years later, but opted to join Ahly, where he became an integral part of the Cairo giants' backline.
The towering defender played a crucial role helping Egypt secure a runner-up finish in last edition's Nations Cup in Gabon, thanks in part to his superb defensive skills throughout the tournament.
West Brom, who usually adopt an ultra-defensive strategy under manager Tony Pulis, finished 10th in the Premier League last season.
