Artist Ismail Mokhtar, head of the Artistic Theatre House, announced that the play Layla Min Alf Layla (One of a Thousand Nights), the successful theatre production starring Egyptian actor Yehia El-Fakharany and directed by Mohsen Helmi, is returning to the National Theatre on the second day of Eid Al Fitr. The performance is based on the poetry of late Egyptian poet Bayram Al-Tunsi with music from late Egyptian composer Ahmed Sedki; and features actors Heba Magdy, Lotfy Labib, Diaa Abdelkhalek and Salma Gharib, as well as singer Mohamed Mohsen and the National Theater's artists. Youssef Ismail, the head of the troupe, said he is happy to be staging the play once again, as it has been one of the Artistic Theater House's most successful shows over the past few years, witnessing unprecedented popular and financial success. The production premiered on 13 August 2015 and grossed LE1 million by October 2015, after its showing in Cairo. It grossed an additional 500 thousand pounds after its showing in Alexandria.
