A Sohag criminal court sentenced on Wednesday five people to 25 years in prison and 40 others to 10 years for planting a bomb at a railway station in Sohag governorate in 2015, Al-Ahram Arabic website reported. The court also sentenced 38 defendants to five years and acquitted 23 others in the same case. The defendants, who authorities say are supporters of ousted President Mohamed Morsi, were also convicted of being members of an outlawed group. The court's ruling is subject to appeal.
