Egypt's 'Wintry Spring' wins best foreign film at the Ridgewood Guild Intl Film Festival

Director Mohamed Kamel's narrative short film Wintry Spring (Rabie Chetwy) has continued along its festival winning streak. The film has most recently won the best foreign film award at The Ridgewood Guild International Film Festival (TRGIFF).
The seventh edition of the annual film festival in New jersey, USA took place from April 24 to 27. TRGIFF works to honor international independent films of all genres.
The 16 minute short film stars Egyptian actors Ahmed Kamal and Iman Moustafa.
The film depicts a relationship between a father and his daughter Nour. In an apparently otherwise regular relationship and life, typical youth problems emerge with Nour and create a rift between the two.
Since the film's release in 2015 through a world premiere at the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival, the film has been circulated and screened in over 130 film festivals around the world.
As of April 2017, Wintry Spring has garnered 18 international awards.
Three of its most recent accolades include an honorable mention in the best narrative short category at the Queens World Film Festival (USA) which took place in March of this year between March 14 and 19. In addition to that, Wintry Spring took the jury award for best short film at the T.R.A me Indipendenti International Short Film Festival (Italy).
