Stoke City's boss Mark Hughes has praised Egypt midfielder Ramadan Sobhi for his eye-catching performance against Hull City Wednesday in the EFL Cup despite the 2-1 defeat. "We did some good stuff. I was really pleased with Ramadan," the 52-year-old tactician said after the game in a video interview with his club's official YouTube channel. Hughes described the former Ahly youngster's performance in his first full match since being signed last month as "fantastic." Sobhi, 19, joined the Potters last month in the biggest deal ever made by an Egyptian club. "He came on, had a fantastic debut, was always a threat so he will get better and we will," the coach added. The man of the match, Sobhi was face-to-face with his national team teammate Ahmed Elmohamady, who substituted for Ryan Mason in the 68th minute. Ramadan's first English Premier League appearance was a few minutes during his side's 4-1 loss to Manchester City on 20 August when he replaced Marko Arnautovic in the 88th minute. He explained two weeks ago he is not worried of bench warming saying he was sure his "time will come" as long as he is working hard. Stoke City's next game will be against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday in the 6th matchday of the Premier League, the same day when Elmohamady's Hull City play Liverpool. Hull will face Bristol City in the fourth round of the EFL Cup in late October.
