Newly appointed Ahly coach Hossam El-Badry has revealed he is eager to meet fans' expectations but he waits for their support to achieve his target with the team. El-Badry was named Ahly's new coach for a third stint after the departure of Dutch coach Martin Jol. "As I said before, I am happy to return to my home again," El-Badry told a television programme late Wednesday. "Ahly fans are the only motivation and we are working to please them while I am waiting for their support again," he said. "I missed those beloved fans in the places I worked before." Some of Ahly hardcore fans (Ultras Ahlawy) insulted players at the end of last season after they lost to rivals Zamalek in the Egypt Cup final and failed to reach the CAF Champions League semifinals. "I say to Ahly fans, you have the right to be angry sometimes, but support the team. We are waiting you in the stands," El-Badry added. The 56-year-old coach will lead Ahly for a third stint, despite an acrimonious departure in 2013, after Egypt's most successful club named him manager in August in an attempt to arrest their stunning decline. He praised the performance of the team's squad during their preparations for the new season. "Sherif Ekrami is a great goalkeeper and we have four goalies. They have to be confident of their performance as the competition will be tough," he said. Ahly beefed up their attack by signing Nigerian starlet Junior Ajayi from Tunisian side CS Sfaxien for five years. "I don't know Ajayi well as the team signed him according to recommendations from the previous coach, but all reports say he is a talented player," El-Badry said.
