Published in Ahram Online on 04 - 09 - 2016

Jordanian band Random House are scheduled to share the stage with Palestinian musician Tamer Abu Ghazaleh in a concert scheduled for Saturday 24 September at Cairo's El-Genaina Theatre.
Based in Amman, Jordan, Random House is a four-member band reflecting "a plethora of musical styles, from folk to indie, reggae to rock, experimental to electronica. Mixed with oriental rhythms and scales, this fusion creates Random House's unique Neo-Sufi sound,” reads the band description on Facebook.
The band line-up includes Qais Raja (vocals, guitar), Feras Arrabi (lead guitar), Ahmad Al-Haj (bass) and Saif Abu Hamdan (drums).
Tamer Abu Ghazaleh is an established Palestinian musician, multi-instrumentalist, and composer.
His repertoire comprises three albums: his debut release Janayen El Ghona in 2001, Mir'ah (Mirror) released in 2008 and most recently "Thulth" (Third), a nine-track album produced by Mostakell, a music label for indie Arabic music operating under Eka3 platform and founded by Abu Ghazaleh himself, which was relesed last May.
Thulth “features Abu Ghazaleh's compositions with lyrics from his own writings and extracts of poetry by Qais Ibnul Mulawah, Tamim Al Barghouti, Ramez Farag and Naguib Sorour,” reads a press release by El-Genaina Theatre.
The concert is part of El-Genaina's September programme which also includes a performance by AlHadraa troupe on 8 September, a concert by Lebanese pop/rock band Adonis on Wednesday 28 September, and a new weekly performance titled Zambalek and comprising circus arts and music by the students of Al-Darb Al-Ahmar Arts School.
Programme:
Saturday 24 September, 8 pm

El-Genaina theatre, Al-Azhar Park, Salah Salem Road, El-Darassa, Cairo
