Four-time World Champion Amr Shabana eased to the British Grand Prix semi-finals after defeating Englishman Adrian Grant 3-0 on Thursday. Shabana won the first two sets easily 11-5, 11-6 to get a convincing advantage. In the third, the 32-year old Egyptian got a little bit tired against a battling Grant who held him to a 9-9 and then 10-10 draws but Shabana finally took it to 12-10 and went through to the last four. He will play World number one Nick Matthew from England who beat his fellow country man Peter Barker 3-1 (11-5, 15-13, 8-11, 11-7) on Thursday. On Friday, Ramy Ashour will face Frenchman Gregory Gaultier – world number six- while Karim Darwish will play Omar Mosaad.
