Egyptian stocks are taking heavy losses, the EGX30 main index trading down 2.5 per cent at 4,321 points an hour into Thursday's session. Today is the first trading session since the Bourse's chairman Mohamed Abdel Salam was unexpectedly replaced by Mohamed Abdel Gawad Omran. Orascom Telecom, while led the market upwards on Monday and Tuesday before plunging yesterday, is seeing the highest turnover.
