Zamalek's Mido to miss Wadi Degla Egypt Cup game Zamalek striker Ahmed Hossam “Mido” is not fit for the game against Wadi Degla in Egypt Cup Championship next Tuesday and one of their newest additions will also sit-out
Zamalek's coach Hassan Shehata decided to sideline his team star, Ahmed Hossam “Mido,” in the game against Wadi Degla in the 16th round of the Egypt Cup this coming Tuesday as the player is not in form for the game and needs a rehab programme to lose the extra weight. “Mido needs a ten-day rehab to return to his [top] performance again” Zamalek assistant coach Ismail Youssif was quoted as saying on Al-Ahram daily newspaper on Sunday. The former Tottenham, Roma, Marseille and Middlesbrough striker joined Cairo giants Zamalek last January to end his playing career with his boyhood club, but registration problems denied him to play with the team last season. The 28-year-old Pharaohs star was reportedly to leave Zamalek following the appointment of Shehata due to their frosty relationship, but Mido revealed that he ended his problems with the team's new coach. On the other hand, the 62-year-old Zamalek's tactician won't make use of new signing Ghanaian defender Karimu Alhassan in Tuesday's game, as the player didn't join the Whites' preparatory camp in Austria early this month. Zamalek reached to the 16th round of the Egypt Cup after smashing Egyptian second division side, Bani Ebaid, 6-0 in the 32nd round of the tournament.
