The Egyptian Premier League confirmed Tuesday that the Cairo derby between Ahly and archrivals Zamalek will be held on 9 July and will take place during the last round of league play. "The football association's competition's committee chose 9 July as the date of our match against Zamalek," a statement on Ahly's official website read. Ahly, who have won the Egyptian league title 37 times, defeated defending champions Zamalek 2-0 in their previous regular season meeting earlier in February. Ahly currently sit atop the league table with 56 points from 24 matches, 11 points ahead of Zamalek.
