The Egyptian Minister of Interior has decided to evacuate police from Tahrir Square, calling on political forces to stand against any chaotic disorder that could characterise Friday's planned protests Police forces will evacuate Tahrir Square for 24 hours starting from Thursday at midnight, according to a statement published by the Minister of Interior on its Facebook account. The decision is offered as proof that the ministry "respects the right to peaceful demonstration and freedom of speech as one of the gains of the revolution," notes the statement. The statement comes a few hours before the "Friday of correcting the path of the revolution" begins. The ministry also called on "all political forces and patriotic revolutionary youth" not to allow any infiltration of the square by those who would use violence or other illegal actions to create chaos. More than 50 political parties and movements have announced that they will participate in Friday's demonstration with many of them planning to secure the square starting from midnight, while others will organise marches from different locations around Cairo to the square. The Central Security Forces (CSF) have been occupying Tahrir Square since the beginning of August after the both the CSF and the military police dispersed a sit-in that started 8July.
