Cairo's criminal court has approved on Saturday to freeze the assets Ahmed Ezz, head of the former ruling National Democratic Party, and family as requested by the Illicit Gains Authority.
Ezz stands accused of abusing his previous position to illegally accrue wealth and expandhis steel business by monopolising the industry and benefitting from state privatisation projects.
