The 20-year-old fullback signed a five-year deal with the Premier League club on Tuesday as a replacement for Jose Enrique, who joined Liverpool. Santon made 40 appearances for Inter, helping the team win back-to-back Italian titles in 2009 and 2010 as well as the 2010 Champions League title. Newcastle manager Alan Pardew says Santon “is a quality left-back and an established international who also gives us flexibility in defense.” Financial details were not disclosed.
