Six killed in Turkish air raids in northern Iraq Turkish air raids against rebels kill six in northern Iraq, including 4 women and children according to Kurdish news agency 'Firat'
A Kurdish news agency says Turkish air raids on suspected Kurdish rebel targets in northern Iraq have killed six civilians. The Firat news agency, which is close to the rebels, said Sunday that a car carrying villagers fleeing the Turkish raids were hit during the Turkish offensive. The dead include two children and two women, it said. Turkish warplanes have been striking at suspected rebel positions across the border in Iraq since Wednesday. Turkey's latest offensive follows stepped-up attacks by the rebels of the Kurdistan Workers' Party, or PKK, that have killed 40 soldiers since July.
