Egypt booked its place at the summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro after claiming an exciting 3-2 victory over North African rivals Tunisia in the final of the African qualifying tournament in Brazzaville, Congo on Tuesday. The Pharaohs won the first set 25-19 but Tunisia had the upper hand in the second with a 25-20 lead. Egypt regained its advantage in the third set with a 25-18 win but Tunisia leveled again after winning the fourth set 25-19. In the decisive fifth set, Egypt emerged winners 16-14 in a hard-fought battle to qualify for the Olympics for the first time since 2008 after missing the previous edition in 2012 in London. Egypt will make its fourth Olympic appearance after taking part in the Los Angeles (1984), Sydney (2000) and Beijing (2008) Games.
