Alexandria Port Authority has decided to extend the closure of Alexandria and Dakheila ports in the coastal city for the fourth consecutive day due to bad weather and increasing wind speeds and wave heights, the state-run MENA news agency reported. The acting head of Alexandria Port Authority, Major General Fathi Taha, said that the authority extended the closure to avoid the collision of ships and vessels with one another and for the general safety of maritime navigation. Heavy rainfall continues in Alexandria and other areas of the northwest coast. Rainwater has accumulated in the city's streets, squares and bridges, pushing the city's sewage authority to move to attempt to remove the water. Alexandria has been witnessing rainfall accompanied by strong winds for the past four days, .
