Ghanaian youngster Jordan Ayew – the younger brother of Andre and son of Ghanaian legend Abedi “Pele” Ayew – has inked a contract extension with Olympique de Marseille (l'OM) that will keep him at the Velodrome until 2015. The 19-year-old forward has played 22 games for Marseille this season including five as a starter, but coach Didier Deschamps thinks that he has good potential and wanted to keep him longer than the duration of his current contract which would have expired in summer 2012. “He has taken some steps. He still remains to be overcome. He has yet to be built in his head but he has good potential,” Deschamps said. “He will be one of six strikers that I have with all our competitions. It will not be too many,” he added. Jordan will now have the chance to combine with Andre and produce a show at l'OM.
