Tennis: Federer says Djokovic deserves No. 1 ranking
Roger Federer says it's good for tennis that Novak Djokovic won Wimbledon and became the top-ranked player in the world

Federer, who's ranked No. 3, says Djokovic deserves his success after an “immense” start to the year.
The six-time Wimbledon champion says it wasn't a big surprise that Djokovic dethroned Rafael Nadal after having beaten the former top-ranked Spaniard in four previous finals in 2011.
Federer, who lost in the Wimbledon quarterfinals to Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, says he didn't watch Sunday's final at home in Switzerland.
He spoke ahead of a Davis Cup match against Portugal, which begins Friday. Switzerland must win to retain hopes of rejoining the elite 16-nation world group next year.
