Arrests in Turkey over football match fixing Turkey's state-run news agency says police have detained 30 people for questioning over football match-fixing allegations, including the president of league champion Fenerbahce
The Anatolia news agency says the 30 were detained in simultaneous raids in 12 cities on Sunday. NVT television said police were investigating alleged match-fixing in the Turkish league last season, which ended in May with Fenerbahce's victory. The detained include Fenerbahce president Aziz Yildirim, officials from other clubs as well as a number of players.
