Dionizetti's elixir of love is back at the Cairo Opera House An operatic comedy by Dionizetti returns to the stage of the Cairo Opera House on 23 and 24 June
L'elisire d'amore, an opera by Gaetano Donizetti is a melodramma giocosa in two acts, written in a bel canto style. The opera isa combination of intrigue and creative freshness, topped with several lovely Italian dances and folk motifs; a delight for the listener and an engaging performance both dramaturgically and musically. L'elisire d'amore is one of the standard elements of the Cairo Opera House repertoire and each year a few days of the season are reserved for its performance. This time, the opera will be performed on two consecutive nights: Thursday 23 June and Friday 24 June. The opera incorporates: Cairo Opera Company,Cairo Opera Orchestra, Cairo Opera Ballet Company andCairo Opera Choir.
