Head of the investigative committee of the so called "Battle of the Camel" on 2 February, Judge Mahmoud El-Sabrout, ordered on Tuesday that former MP Said Abd El-Khaleq be detained for 15 days. Abd El-Khaleq is accused of involvement in the attack on protesters in Tahrir Square. According to eyewitnesses, Abd El-Khaleq was seen in Tahrir Square inciting violence against demonstrators. Abd El-Khaleq denies charges, saying he was only participating in a pro-stability demonstration.
