Egyptian striker Ahmed ‘Koka' Hassan scored his first goal of the season as Rio Ave claimed a 1-0 win over Sporting Braga in the Portuguese league on Friday. The 22-year-old towered to head home a free kick from the left after 36 minutes and give Rio Ave all three points, continuing from where he left off last season when he notched 12 goals in 22 league appearances. Rio Ave, whose first league match ended in a 3-3 draw with Belenenses, moved top with four points from two matches. Widespread reports linked the Egyptian international with a move to Benfica in the close season but a deal did not eventually materialize, with the media claiming that he had failed a medical test with the Portuguese giants.
