Award-winning films of new Spanish cinema - which is internationally acclaimed for their thought, attention to detail and, intense, high quality directing and acting – will play at the Creativity Centre in the Cairo Opera House from 5-10 June, 2011, 18:30. The Spanish embassy in Cairo sends the message that they wish to support and develop translations and subtitling of Spanish film screenplays. The film festival's subtitling comes as the results of workshops lead by Arab Studies scholar, Alberto Canto García and current professor at the University of Cairo. Last year, they subtitled 22 short films and this year 6 feature films. Some of the big names on the big screen include Daniel Monzón, José Luis Garci, Javier Fesser, Imanol Uribe, Juan José Campanella and Alejandro Amenábar.
