Al-Jazeera journalists verdict postponed to 2 August
The head of court was reportedly sick, delaying the retrial verdict

Cairo Criminal Court has postponed to 2 August issuing a verdict in the retrail of Al-Jazeera journalists.
The scheduled session did not take place as the head of the court fell sick, judicial sources told Ahram Online.
The Twitter account of Al-Jazeera English(@AJEnglish) posted tweets quoting theAl-Jazeera Media Network spokesperson as saying: "We are extremely angry that the verdict has been adjourned today … We … expected a swift end to the ordeal for our colleagues."
Three Al-Jazeera journalists —Australian Peter Greste, Egyptian-Canadian Mohamed Fahmy and Egyptian Baher Mohamed — were convicted last year on charges of spreading false news and aiding the outlawed Muslim Brotherhood group.
Eighteen defendants in the case, including the three journalists, were sentenced to jail terms ranging from seven to 10 years. Eleven were tried in absentia.
In January 2015, the Court of Cassation overturned the sentences and ordered a retrial citing a lack of evidence presented to support the charges.
Soon after, all detained defendants were released pending the retrial.
Greste was released earlier and deported to his native country Australia under the provisions of a newly issued law allowing foreign nationals to be deported to serve their sentences or be retried in their own country.
