The world junior squash championships in Egypt have been canceled over fears of terrorism in the region. The World Squash Federation said Friday ''it is an inappropriate time for teams of youngers to travel to Egypt'' for the championships, which had been scheduled to take place in Cairo from July 25-Aug. 4. The WSF cited concerns of parents about ''the extreme radicalism in the region, not specific to Egypt,'' including the killing of tourists by militants in Tunisia this week. The federation says ''the decision to cancel the event in Cairo has been taken with reluctance but, based upon prevailing circumstances, we feel it is the prudent approach.'' The WSF said the championships will be relocated ''if possible.'' It is looking for prospective hosts to hold the tournament on the same dates and at the same cost.
