Zamalek claimed a 2-0 warm-up win over lower-tier side Ghazala as part of their preparations for their CAF Confederation Cup opening game next month. With the domestic league currently on hold following this month's Air Defense Stadium disaster, which saw 20 Zamalek fans killed after being pelted by tear gas from security forces, the Whites prepare for their African campaign by staging a number of friendlies. Goals from Ayman Hefny and Ahmed Ali gave them a 2-0 win on Thursday, just few weeks ahead of their round of 32 Confederation Cup meeting with the winner from the match between Rwandan side Rayon Sports and Cameroon's Panthère du Ndé. Zamalek, who will be camping in Gouna on March 10, will host the first leg three days later in the Red Sea resort.
