Unknown assailants kidnapped head of the water company in a North Sinai town on Wednesday evening, Egypt state TV reported. Local witnesses said armed assailants attacked Ibrahim Awad's home near Sheikh Zuweid town and kidnapped him. Authorities are investigating the incident. Attacks on government personnel, particularly police and army, have been recurrent in North Sinai as the military fights an Islamist insurgency. Ansar Beit Al-Maqdis, who pledged allegiance to the regional Islamic State (IS) group last year, has claimed responsibility for several attacks. The army, on the other hand, has announced that it has killed and arrested hundreds of terrorist elements. http://english.ahram.org.eg/News/123957.aspx
