Zamalek promises to fulfill fans' title hopes
Zamalek director and fans are elated after strong 3-0 win over Smouha, with Ibrahim Hassan already contemplating strategies for premier league championship face-off

Zamalek are celebrating their rabbit-out-of-the-hat win over Smouha, struggling against relegation, in day 21 of the Egyptian Premier League.
Now with high morale, the 11-time league champions take the driving seat of this season's table, 4 points ahead of arch-rivals, Ahly, who face a hard tie against Wadi Degla on Monday in the same round.
Zamalek coaching staff expressed their satisfaction for their great frontline performance and welcomed back the long-injured striker, Amr Zaki.
“If we scored the first goal earlier, we could make a really high score,” Zamalek football director, Ibrahim Hassan said.
The Alexandrian team tightly defended their zone before the Cairo giants were able to remember the scoring password in the last ten minutes of the game, thanks to the trio substitutes, Amr Zaki, Hussein, Yasser Mohamady and Ahmed Gaafar, with assistance from outstanding key player, Mahmoud Abdel-Razik “Shikabala.”
The White Knights healed their the supporters' wounds, elated to the point they forgot about last week's defeat against Al-Gouna 1-2 that triggered attacks against the coaching staff and players. This time stands were full of pleased fans after the official return of “Ultras White Knights.” They chanted during Sunday's victory “The people demand the league title from the world's most capped player,” referring to Zamalek coach, former Egypt, Ahly and Zamalek striker Hossam Hassan, who won that title in 2001.
“Smouha's match was the bottleneck in our title race. We are confident that our players are able to accomplish what supporters want,” Hassan concluded.
