ES Setif's players send CAF Champions League trophy for Algerian fans
Algeria's ES Setif players ask the Algerian Football Federation to pay attention to domestic players after winning the CAF Champions League title

After claiming the African Champions League title, Algerian heavyweights ES Setif players decided to send the trophy to their fans as thanks for their support throughout the tournament games.
The Algerian giants snatched the CAF Champions League title despite being held to a 1-1 home draw by Congo's AS Vita Club on Saturday. Setif prevailed by virtue of the away-goal rule, having played out a 2-2 draw with Vita Club in Kinshasa a week ago.
"Despite the game's difficulty, I am happy for the trophy," forward Sofiane Younes who scored the lone goal for his side during the 1-1 draw on Saturday said after the game.
"The game was difficult against a tough opponent," he added.
Younes sent the home fans into raptures nine minutes after the restart when he side-footed the ball into an empty net after a right-wing cross was flicked by a teammate at the near post.
"We present the trophy to the Algerian people,"
"I ask the Algeria national team technical staff to give a chance for the domestic players to join the team as they can achieve more in the international duties," the ES Setif's forward was quoted as saying on Qatari sports channel beIN after the game.
Setif will now take part in the FIFA Club World Cup for the first time. The annual tournament will be played in Morocco from 10 to 20 December.
"Now we will play in the name of Algeria in the Club World Cup in Morocco," Younes concluded.
Saturday's glorious night in Blida marked Setif's second triumph in Africa's elite club competition, having won the old African Champions Cup in 1998, defeating Nigeria's Iwuanyanwu Nationale 4-1 on aggregate in the final.
Across the nation, Algerian fans marched into the streets celebrate the trophy. The team will be welcomed in an open bus tour in Algeria after achieving the CAF Champions League title for the second time in its history since 1988.
