Nigeria kept their hopes alive in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers after defeating Sudan 3-1 on Wednesday. Striker Ahmed Musa scored twice to give his side their first win in the African qualifiers, while Samuel Olanare added the third three minutes from time. Nigeria are now third of Group A with three points, four behind leaders South Africa who host Congo later on Wednesday. Elsewhere, Ghana continued their perfect run in the qualifiers after beating visitors Guinea 3-1 on Wednesday, thanks to goals from Asamoah Gyan (16), Andre Ayew (58) and Emmanuel Badu (90). Guinea's midfielder Mohamed Yattara scored the consolation for the visitors in the 35th minute. Ghana are leading Group E with eight points, two ahead of second-placed Togo.
