Libyan premier Al-Thinni arrives in Egypt During the visit, Abdullah Al-Thinni and his Egyptian counterpart Ibrahim Mahlab will discuss bilateral relations
Libyan Prime Minister Abdullah Al-Thinni arrived in Egypt on Tuesday at the invitation of Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, state news agency MENA reported. Al-Thinni is accompanied by a Libyan diplomatic delegation for a visit that will reportedly include discussions of bilateral relations. MENA said Al-Thinni will be meeting his Egyptian counterpart Ibrahim Mahlab. In August, Egypt announced it would sponsor an initiative to disarm the neighbouring country's renegade militias. Libya has been sliding into chaos since long-time leader Muammar Gaddafi was toppled in a NATO-backed uprising three years ago, with interim authorities confronted by the powerful militias that fought to oust him. The fighting on the ground paralleled a political battle between Islamists, who brought back to power the outgoing Islamist-led parliament and named a separate cabinet, and non-Islamists who lead the elected parliament in Tobruk and named Al-Thinni's cabinet. http://english.ahram.org.eg/News/112547.aspx
