Egypt coach accepts blame for Tunisia defeat
Shawky Gharib asks for patience from fans after second consecutive loss in the 2015 African Cup of Nations qualifiers

Egypt coach Shawky Gharib has asked fans to be patient after the 1-0 loss to Tunisia in the second match of the 2015 African Cup of Nations qualifiers on Wednesday, as he believes he is still working to build a new team.
Egypt suffered their second African Cup of Nations qualifying defeat after losing 1-0 to Tunisia at Air Defence Stadium, leaving their hopes of reaching the 2015 Morocco finals in doubt.
Record seven-time African champions Egypt, who missed out on qualification for the last two CAN editions, now lie at the bottom of Group G with no points – as they lost their first game 2-0 in the qualifiers against Senegal.
"I had confidence in the players before the game but there were mistakes," Gharib was quoted as saying after the game.
Gharib was appointed in November after former manager, American Bob Bradley, resigned from his post when he failed to reach the 2014 World Cup.
"You should recognise that we are still building the team," he added.
"I am responsible for the loss but those players who played the two games are the best players in Egypt."
Egypt started their first game in the qualifiers against Senegal with a 3-5-2 formation, but Egyptian fans criticised the tactician for playing this formation so Gharib decided to change the formation during the Tunisia game.
"I changed the formation as you asked me so what happened? We lost again," Gharib said.
Egypt are the record winners of the Nations Cup with seven titles under their belt, winning in 1957, 1959, 1986, 1998, 2006, 2008 and 2010.
